What are they trying to do, leak the whole movie bit by bit to the Net so we won't have to pay to see it?

I wonder what Ford and Marvin are up to.

Yeah, this is starting to look silly!

I suppose Ford is outside doing research (hence talking to the tall lady), but what about Marvin?

Most electronic press kits released to promote movies have about 6-7 clips for interviews & so such.

Either that or they're releasing the movie one scene at a time.

Ford is indeed talking to the tall lady (Dukey confirmed this in another thread). I don't know why Arthur is with them - the Humma/Zaphod stuff is none of his business.

Zaphod is as good as I remember him on Vogsphere.

But Malkovich does a pretty good job of chewing up the scenery (then again, I haven't seen Humma to the fullest, so maybe he realized that was exactly what he was supposed to do).

Perhaps Arthur just wanted to go with Trillian, Perhaps he was scared of the tall lady, perhaps he was just interessted...

Humma's legs look really good, but when he hoists himself up on the table, he just puts his fingers on it and up he goes.

I hope Humma's in the (potential) sequel so we can find out how he got like that.

But when the camera shows him from his side after he has stepped down from the table, there's a bobbing motion similar to if he has got real legs.

Humma seems to be awesome and those two or three lines we hear are good as well. Go, Humma, go!

Yep, I like what I've seen so far.
Looks like he gets a full-length robe so the legs don't have to show all the time but I think the point has had its impact by then.

Arthur and Trillian's expressions are great.

John Malkovich's performance is very interesting, for this reason:

He's on the borderline of going over the top...

But he still creeps me out!

One thing that I have wondered about that scene is that I've got the impression that quite many of those who have seen the whole film seemed to think that that scene didn't lead anywhere. So why is it still there?

Because the directors liked it, simply?
Because it's Malkovich's scene?
Because they really liked that special effect with his legs?
Because it is important for sequels? (Just like the "oh no, not again" line may look unnecessary for someone not knowing what is waiting later on in the story...)

Anyway, his legs were certainly more memorable than Zaphod's and I liked some of the lines. Cool

Nah, that's the Betelgeusian version, and for being Betelgeusian, it is not very rude at all. You if anybody should know that, Wowbagger. Wink

Yes that was certainly my very personal opinion.

Ooooh, so that was who you woke up with? Likes the legs. Two heads. Three arms. Makes perfect sense... Wink
