To be considered a trendy man-in-the-know in the late ‘70s, one would simply strap on a cheap plastic band around his wrist with semi-legible flashing digital numbers. The reference of digital watches in the HGTG worked perfectly for that time period and was only one example of man’s constant embracement of the latest technical gadget that would finally solve all of his needs. Fast forward 25 years and now we have cell phones, I-pods and maybe in some strange mix of bistro-improbability mechanics the great ancestor to the guide itself – PDAs.
Don’t’ get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind digital watches in the movie, if only for the nostalgic value. I only have the follow 2 fears:
a) Digital watches become “cool” again
b) The simultaneous structural endangering sound of “hugh?” rushing through the theater framework by viewers not familiar with the books.

No
That is to say yes. T
Allow me to explain:
The digital watches of old are not. The digital watches (or rather their equivalent) of today are. They are called Mobilephones, Mp3-players, laptops and generally speaking gadgets. _________________ Carpe aleae
