Quantum is really quite small, infinately small infact. Its also where trillions of wormholes, blackholes, proto-universes and random particle thingys appear and dissapear every half gooplexth of a seconds(a gooplex is a 1 with 100 zeroes after it, which is quite long when you consider a million only has 6), if you go zoom down to planck level, 0.0000000000000000000000000000000034 milimeters, you can see them, naughty blighters, topologically distorting spacetime into something that looks like the top of a fizzy drink. Although if there was even just slightly less of this Quantum Foam the force of spacetime on itself would cause it collapse inward very quickly, which we wouldn't like at all. Yet, don't forgot even slightly too much Quantum Foam and every single point in space would explode with the power of ten supernovas, which we wouldn't like at all.

Isn't there a theory, based on quantum relativity that there is an infinite amount of space between any two fixed points in space? Your description seems to back that up. That's where I was going with that anyway.

But, if I'm totally off the mark, have a quantum leap:

This reminds me of my second favorite Quantum Koan (They probably have some real name, but they seem so much like koan's that it's just easier to remember that), which is Zeno's Arrow.

Basically it says, when somebody fires an arrow at a target, it can't logically arrive at the target. Consider:

You fire the arrow, and in some certain period of time, it covers have the distance between point A, your bow, and point B, the target. So at that point in time, it is at point C, the midpoint. Then, it takes another set period of time to go from point C, the midpoint, to point D, the point halfway between point C and the target. You can continue dividing the space between the arrow and the target in half, and add the amount of time it takes to cover that distance, ad infinitum, but the arrow will never reach the target. Every time it will get closer, and some time will pass, but the distance will just get exponentially smaller, and time will just get greater.

So it is of course a complete mystery as to how arrows actually hit targets. Most serious scientists now believe that they don't, and any observation to the contrary can be explained as group hallucinations.

EDIT: By the way, my favorite altime Quantum Koan is, of course, Schrodinger's Cat. Mostly because I like the idea of a cat in a sealed box.

It's like Obi-Wan said:

Circular logic is infinite, no? But that was where I was going with my original statement.

Number,

I like this version better... (from Terry Pratchett's Lords and Ladies)

"In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious."

And a belated Welcome to Quantum Foam...

Have a look inside:
