Well, this one isn't a poll because there would probably be near 90% votes for "Other." So, I decided to leave this one open for you all! Only regulations are that it has to be a ROCK song and the BEST song, in your opinion.

But my opinion is that your opinion is wrong! Unless you agree with me!

The Goddess loves her Kashmir. Don't blame her. Great song.

I suppose I could be cliche and say Stairway to Heaven. But I'm not. I can't pick one song. There's too many.

It's off his Grammy-winning album, Jazz From Hell. The Ensemble Modern do a righteous version of it under FZ's direction on The Yellow Shark.

Music is the best.

Defying the goddess? Never.

Disagreeing, perhaps.

But never defy.

Did you create us just so we'd all be obedient little lambs who never bleated a word of discord? Why would you do such a horrible thing?

At this moment in time, I place me vote for Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah.

Please don't destroy me, Maroongoddess.

I never put down my pick.

Undecided.

Maybe... Yes, definitely...

"Won't Get Fooled Again"
The Who

And mg, I happen to be listening to "Kashmir" right now.

What defines a rock song?
To me, Stairway isn't.

Johnny B Goode?
Back in the USSR?
The Boys are Back in Town?
Hammer to Fall?

Depends on what you view as rock

I don't know, the guitar solo is rock-ish and the singing bit, where Plant goes super high, "And as we wind on down the road..." is definitely rock. That bit makes it rock to me. And a great song.

It's rock.

Case closed.

And you know what, screw it.

Stairway to Heaven, but there's a catch. I mean Stairway live. Not the studio one. Not that I have anything against the studio version, mind you, wonderful song, but it's so much better live.

Ah... That is why I love "Won't Get Fooled Again." Without a doubt among the greatest live performances by The Who, or in rock in general. Live is better than recorded in my opinion... Hmm...

Case reopened through a legal loophole that allows songs recorded outside of the seventies
to be considered in the discussion, specifically indie rock legends that have influenced a large percentage
of popular and alternative bands recording today.

Pixies - Bone Machine

Case still open but under heavy federal scrutiny.

Good choice! Evenflow is good too. But personally. I think U2's Hold Me Thrill Me... is best 90s rock song. Stone me, if you wish.

It is a tough question. A couple that I like very much:

Rolling Stones - Jumping Jack Flash

Eagles - Hotel California

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll

Yep... The rest of the song is pretty easy, I had to search the lyrics up for that part. Robert Plant gets too high and echo-y. Great song...

How odd. Those are some of the few lyrics I've never had a problem understanding. I'm always looking up lyrics to find out what's really being sung.

Often backstage my friend Ronnie will start playing Stairway on someones guitar, and we will both start singing the words in bad Robert Plant impressions. Really loudly.
