Just began my annual re-reading of the H2G2 series. Almost done with H2G2, then on to The Restaurant.

Recently begun reading (that is, actually reading, if you understand what I mean) the Canon for the first time in English. Just finished Restaurant, having a short break before Life... to study for exams.

i´m with book 14 in the aubrey/maturin series, "the nutmeg of consolation". 14 books and the series has lost nothing of its momentum, neither have the characters lost their appeal. 6 more to look forward to!

I finished three books while in Poland. "Lord of the Rings" part I by J.R.R. Tolkien, "Hells Angels" by Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and "The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe.

Actually I cheated. I had already read half of LOTR at home.

I will soon reread "The Rum Diary" by Hunter S. Thompson.

Just finished "First Man in Rome" by Colleen McCullough. It took my half a semester because I'm so busy. And then I read like 7 books over Spring Break (including the first Hitchhiker). I'm going with The Grass Crown by McCullough for the second half.

I don't count all the books I have to read for school as books I'm reading.

Just started

Had this book for a while, at last felt the urge to start it.

And wow, he writes well. I can relate to his thought processes far more than I expected to....

Only 3 chapters in so far....I hope that the wallowing in self-pity subsides a little, but so far it's good stuff.

Just started The Killing of Worlds by Scott Westerfeld.

This one won't take long. It moves at such a furious pace, and yet crams a mountain of
fascinating ideas into each page, that I'm not going to be able to put it down until it's consumed.

A curious twist on the idea of a planet-sized artificial intelligence, if you're interested. What if
your god was in your cell phone?

Just started - ashamed to admit - my first P. G. Wodehouse book (hey, I'm young, remember?), Carry on Jeeves.

ah. there is only one P.G. Wodehouse book in English in my local library, and it's been rewritten to suit um young learners of English. There is one book translated into Norwegian at that same library, but I prefer reading books in their original language.

Well, I finished the book and all I can say is WOW. Plum Glenville Wodehouse was certainly a master of everything that is in connection with writing! Superb character-descriptions and the awesome description of certain feelings that are really hard to describe.

Ahem. Pelham Grenville Wodehouse...

I know it's Pelhalm but according to IMDb, he called himself Plum... or maybe not Plum, I check it and I'll be back.

Yes, Plum is an abbrevation of Pelham.

Never heard the name Pelhalm before, so I couldn't really tell that it's the abbreviation of it...

Anyway, I've just noticed that You wrote the IMDb mini-biography!

yay, finished Mary Barton! For a book written in 1848, it wasn't that bad. Of course all the misery wasn't too pleasant to read about, but if it hadn't been there, 'twould have been a rather boring book

For a book written in the 13th century, the Vulgata Circle kicks ass.

For a book written in the 1st century*, the New Testament does a pretty good line in Science Fiction.

Well, the New Testament we know, was written around AD. 300-400.

Who knows, that's right. But it was most certainly created after the 4th century.

started reading The Dice Man earlier today. Nearly at chapter 14 now, some 100 pages into the book. Seems alright, but so far it's not been as funny as I thought it would be (the one that recommended it said it was a very amusing book. still, 400 pages or so left, so lots can still happen )
