Maybe he had problems with his stick.

I have a family friend who sends me all those awful round-robin email jokes beloved of bored office workers everywhere. I usually bin them after a yawn or, at most, a mild chuckle, but this one seemed vaguely relevant here....

Quote:
(Best to read out loud with Jamaican accent)

This man from the Jamaican country had lost his house and all his crops after a hurricane. He had nothing left but his donkey.

After days of being miserable, and not being able to find a job, he took his donkey into the city and put up a sign that read 'Betting $10.00 that this donkey could answer any question yuh ask.'

One man come up saying: 'No way that ass could tell me how much numbers in a phone number?' The owner said 'Tell him ass?' The donkey stomp on the ground seven times, the man paid and walked away shocked.

Ah next man come up and say 'Tell me how much players make up a football side?' The donkey stomp the ground eleven times.' The man paid up.

By now, news spread like wild fire and nuff people gather around to see this smart ass.

This woman come out of the crowd, walk up to the owner and said 'You is ah fraud and ah bet $100.00 he cyan tell me meh age.'

The donkey step back, leh go a loud fart and stomp he foot two times. The woman faint.

After some smelling salts and water, she revive and point at de donkey and say, 'He know ah was farty-two'..

I was checking out Fort Huachuca on the National Register of Historic Places (I was stationed there early '98 to late '00) and their collection of historic photos page (http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/ ... 000443.pdf) has 42 pages.

I know this is weird, but totally true...

The last 8 times I went downtown in Ned for errands, the bank's digital thermometer said 42 degrees... I don't know if it's stuck on that or if that really is the temperature. Next time I go into town I'm going to take my camera and prove it.

For sale:

Tower 42 (formerly known as the NatWest tower)

Image

Yielding 6.6%, and with rents 30% below their peak, I'd say it was a bloody bargain at £300m! I may have to check down the back of the couch for loose change.

Apparently, this place comes as part of the deal

Lady Mike (also known as Ci Ci) and I attended the Cave Spring Art Festival this past Saturday. Total distance from my driveway to our parking spot in Cave Spring: 42 miles.

And now my dear has to travel off to work on her grandmother's ranch for, you guessed it, the next 42 days (a 42 that I am not thrilled about at all).

Seeing how the performing arts center is under renovation, the university I go to found a place in the nearby city to use until it's done. The street address? 42.

Man jumps from 42nd floor in Denver
The Denver Post
Posted: 03/06/2011 05:56:37 PM MST
Updated: 03/06/2011 05:56:48 PM MST

One person is dead after apparently jumping from the 42nd floor of the Spire tower near 14th Street and Champa, a Denver Police spokesman said.

Police received a call at about 5 p.m., but do not know whether the person had previously threatened to jump, the spokesman said. The person's identity, including age and sex, are not known.

Police are investigating the incident, but said it "appears" to have been a case of suicide.
