Did anyone see this?
I thought it was superb except for perhaps Eddie Izzards' performance of Torrence. Joely Richardson and DougrayScott were superp but young Eddie, whilst being a great comedian is no actor. Imagine for example if John Simm had played Torrence. On the whole very enjoyable though. What did you think?

I enjoyed too. I think I read the book 25 years ago, but my main memories of the story come from the 80s TV series which I saw again in the last couple of years.

I thought the Triffids were done very well. Less is more, keeping them as a surprise until the end of the first 90 minute episode, and then they turned out to be hoodies. I was not so sure about the diversion with the nuns, and the way they did the blindness would have left more sighted in my opinion.

I didn't think that Izzard was that bad to be honest, but overall a good adaptation, although the ending maybe was a bit rushed.

I missed the start of ep.1, so missed the whole blindness thing.

Izzard was a bit stilted, I thought, but sufficiently menacing without going over the top.

It was a fair adaptation, but I wasn't blown away with it as I expected to be. Particularly, I think it was in the movie that had the iconic scene with a whole forest of triffids pushing against the fence, as far as the eye could see.

It didn't feel big enough for what is meant to be an apocalypse.
