Many a friend of mine over the early internet years have had their homes there. Most of them I met at www.chathouse.org, especially at The Next Levels Joes Diner. I actually "met" Douglas there once, in 1996. I remember him saying "I know, and you know, that this is the future. Communities on the Internet are going to take over from meeting in cafes, and we will all end up having to brew our own fucking coffee."

I think I actually have a screen print of that. And I know it was him, cos I asked him later on and he said "yes that was me. Must have been, cos here I am, brewing my own fucking coffee".

I swear they sent me a notice at least five years ago saying they had shut down my site. Ah, well ... no loss - Douglas never stopped by anyway.

The closing down of Geo means that we will no longer be plagued by <blink> tags and <marquee> crap.

Miss it? Like a hole in the head...

I had my first homepage over there. Used it mainly for hosting piccies I posted elsewhere. Never got the closing down message, it was probably sent to an email addy I discontinued ages ago.

Noticed some months ago I couldn't get in to my page and this must have been the reason why.

Haha. You'll have to show us sometime.
