Home stretch time, just finished the 42nd(!) disk out of 45 of The West Wing. The Bartlett Administration is going to be over by the end of the week.

Some 80's british cop serial, Dagliesh I believe it's called, saw it some 20 odd years ago, Roy Marsden he's quite good, but it's marked by time, the makeup style of the 80's, the clothing almost end of 70's bbc standard, it's ok, though, makes me recall younger years, amazing how all the smells, the food, the furniture, it all comes to mind when seeing it again. Later it's Morse, the best I saw except monty python from over there. A nice night so to say. The Digestive pack from mc vities, and a couple of cheapo 'folk' beers on the menu. Tomorrow it's pizza with little miss Skei downtown. That'll be nice. I like spoiling her a bit. As much as I can with my jazzy economy...

Peace
Skei (the Marsden one)

'White teeth', a superb serial, Just happened to see it, and superb!
Last night a new episode of 'berlin Alexanderplatz' one of the best tv serials I ever saw, and later tonight, as usual, two consecutive episodes of 'Rome'. And I have the best jazz sound available on the 335.
How good can life be?
Furthermore, the wife (ex) passed by outside with Sheila, my all time favorite dog, and asked if I wanted some whisky glasses, she doesn't drink whisky, whereas I sometimes do, very smoky, almost lethal. Good.

Peace
Skei (the white teeth one)

I just finished up all the 10 seasons and two movies of Stargate SG-1. Whew!

I'm starting through Firefly for the second time.

Watching Christer Fuglesang's spacewalk on NASA TV. Of course this is actually all filmed in a secret tv studio run by the US government but nevertheless very fascinating to a starry-eyed gobshite like me.

Stop it, all of you, or I'm turning this car around, and we're going back home and you can all have your vacation in a mud puddle. And if another one of you discusses the past incident(s), I'll get the belt.

Well the standards of interaction dropped a while back when Stej treated Iain so badly so I thought it was OK to be abrasive now.
I've been a friend of Iain's for a long time now, he came to my 50th birthday party, he's been very generous in sending me stuff and it was he who came up with the name "The Douglas Adams Continuum". So, if you fuck with Iain you fuck with me. If Stej wants to carry on making little digs he's got to remember I'm still around. Let's just hope he can survive two weeks without you eh Nell?

Dear Scratch, I was giving Iain as he gave to me. I'm sorry if you see that differently. But I don't respect a moderator dishing out cheap shots. How about letting it go yourself.

Read back over all the stuff Stej, you were the antagonist. Iain tried to stay civil as long as possibly. You rarely replied to any of his posts with anything constructive and you still continue to have cheap digs at him. If cheap digs are OK for you to give then you should be able to take them. And stop with the moderator bullshit, it's got nothing to do with it.

Each other? I'm looking out for Iain, an old friend who was driven out of here by cheap shots and insults.

I would never pull the plug, none of us mods would. Don't you know how the DAC works yet?

Aha, and should we not watch those to whom we give the power?

Right now having been abused insulted called a lunatic and ignorant, when all I had been doing was bringing up some issues which I considered to be very important and thought they should be talked about. Right or wrong I have been subjected to some serious ridicule and have absolutely no desire to share my opinions feelings or emotions with the people that now frequent this place.

So the gloves are off for one last shout.

Stef has been one of the most obnoxious people I have ever encountered in my life, and I'm not surprised that he still lives at home with his parents given the smarm he spouts.

Gonz I don't understand at all I seem to remember he proudly posted he had voted for Ron Paul in the primaries, and then sent out a nasty jibe aimed obviously at me using Ron Paul supporters as a basis for calling me a nut??? Duh? -Which resulted in a thread being locked for the first time in the history of the DAC.

I just don't get it folks, look at the place... It used to be filled with fun and laughter and now it's a fuck insult site like most of the other places you can go on the internet.

So that's why I left, if it changes well I may think about returning, and this isn't some ultimatuum, but the conversation just wasn't funny or interesting any more, it seemed more and more like watching the mainstream news, and I gave that up years ago.

So we'll see what happens but keep on fighting chaps because that's the idea, divide and conquer.

and iain, three things:

1. if you keep returning, it doesn´t count as leaving in the first place.

2. i advise you not to make cheap shots at other forumer´s personal life style. someone might return the favour to you, and i´m sure you wouldn´t like that. elephants and glass houses, if you get my drift.

3. this site hasn´t turned into anything. observe closely: it was your moon hoax posting that broke the camel´s back for some people here. nobody has insulted anone in any of the other threads. if you are not prepared to take at least a small part in the responsibility, i can but call it blindness.

So along with cheap shots and insults we've now got threats. Keep lowering that bar Nell.

you think this was a threat? you insinuate i am the one insulting and taking cheap shots? are you trying to intimidate me, scratch?

and am i to assume that you condone iain´s behaviour? so do the laws of civil interaction apply only to certain members here?

a bit of clarification would be nice.

1. Indeed I return a little to respond to the continued shite that is thrown at me despite having resolved to leave for the benefit of the forum.

2. Well given the cheap shots I have endured for a few months that comment really takes the fucking Biscuit.

3. The moon thing I posted because it was the 40th anniversary and stuff was posted up so I thought I would look about and chuck in some of the "other sides" stuff, I have never been a moon conspiracy theorist although I am starting to become one...

But your analysis and post are well indeed the reason I am leaving.

Aren't half the fucking posts on this forum these days about you and Tony wanting to Fuck? Personally I don't find that very interesting. Just a get a room and get on with it and tell us about later if you want.

Personally I don't find that very interesting.

your honour, i rest my case.

You can't rest your case yet, I don't get your drift.

i´m sorry, but i feel iain´s post has neatly wrapped it all up nicely and even topped it off with a little crude comment in my direction. this is not an acceptable level of communication for me, hence i will stop here.

i would like an answer to my questions, though. i think i deserve this at least, if only because i´m the last person here who seems to be capable of making a post without swear words and to apologize for misdirected comments.

and iain, three things:

1. if you keep returning, it doesn´t count as leaving in the first place.

2. i advise you not to make cheap shots at other forumer´s personal life style. someone might return the favour to you, and i´m sure you wouldn´t like that. elephants and glass houses, if you get my drift.

3. this site hasn´t turned into anything. observe closely: it was your moon hoax posting that broke the camel´s back for some people here. nobody has insulted anone in any of the other threads. if you are not prepared to take at least a small part in the responsibility, i can but call it blindness.

Yes please explain you make points I respond and then another non-response with a pseudo ad hominem statement.

This is bullshit? Spit it out. Enough of this Crap, come on cards on the table....

The forum is a mess anyway so at this point who cares, me leaving or not I don't think this place will get back on track for a while, and I don't think it's my fault at all, I talked about stuff important stuff, I think, but it could have been ignored just as I ignore the posts in the NFL, or the hockey thread, I don't care about that or the phantom sport thing or whatever, so I don't butt in and insult people because that's what interests them.

I posted what I was interested in and received a ton of abuse, although none of the points I raised were even addressed by the abuser, eventually for some reason it became a hail of abuse from many sides, I still don't understand why, I didn't start chucking abuse about until I had taken it for months.

So well it just isn't fun or interesting to post things any more, why would I do so, if I post something I get this hail of abuse it's unbelieveable. And look at my post average, I made 2 posts a day !

See and that's where we disagree. You feel insulted and so do I. We deal with that differently. We'll probably never agree and that's actually not a problem in itself.

In the interest of the forum, why not bury the hatchet? I am sorry and you are sorry and Scratch, Thrith, Gusty and Nell were collateral damage anyway.

I see, so no direct apology, you apologise for me...lets forget all the shite you chucked at me because I like to walk naked in the land of politics, and Scratch, Thrith, Gusty, and Nell are collateral damage, just where the Fuck do you get off? You sound like one of "them"...

Collateral damage....

Fucking hell...

Nope I am not sorry and I don't think Scratch, Thrith, Gusty and Nell are collateral damage.

Would you please stop talking for me, first you try to psychoanalyse me then you say you are worried for my child, then you say "I am sorry and you are sorry".

And if you think that is an apology, try again.

and i am sorry, too. seriously, and deeply and for every time i went off track, did something insulting to anyone here, especially you, iain, and contributed in escalating the situation further.
