Funniest edition of Celebrity Mastermind. Ever.

Ian Lavender takes a seat on the Black Chair and John Humphrys ask the usual "Your name, please?"

Rick Wakeman shouts out "Don't tell him Pike!"

Classic!

Agreed, though he does have a rather squeaky voice.

I've been quite enjoying Leverage even it is a bit of a rip off from Hustle

And Gina Bellman was in a play at the theatre here, and spent many a night in my local (Gusty knows it!)

Stuck up lass though. Steve Beckett was also on the same production and was a great chap to have a beer and a laugh with

And I've just googled it and he did a Doctor Who Audio

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Beckett

Sorry, the Grouse is getting to me!

I rented The Tudors at my local library. It's a good series, a little bit on the soft core porn side but Henry Tudor was a bit of a man-whore anyway.

It's a pretty good series so far... Jonathan Ryes Myers has an ammaaaaaazing body not to mention the sexy accent. Though the series is more fictional than historically accurate though.

I just saw an interview with Miles Davis from 1990. He was 63, and he still seemed to be interested in learning stuff in music. Hope I'll be that alert when I'm 63...

Ok, but tonight there's one of my fav actors and movies on tv8; 'Wilde' with the marvelous Stephen Fry, fondly remembered from 'Jeeves & Wooster and the adventures with Mr Blackadder, especially the WWI version. Ever since seeing that, I've been getting ideas about situations that might become awkward if one had the name 'Darling'.
Ahum...

Last night I caught the fourth episode of Joss Whedon's new dead-show-walking Dollhouse. I've been watching it every week, and am still far from sold on what I'm fairly convinced is an unfilmable concept. Joss is the master of seducing my brain, but the entire show feels oddly hollow.

Oh well. Fingers crossed, especially since House and Supernatural are sucking so much.

I've been seeing 'British Crime Night' on channel 9 since my daughter left. First 'Dalziel & Pascoe'. Which I like, as I can easily relate to Dalziel, grumpy old whisky drinking character with even less sex appeal than miself. A comfort in these trying times. That was followed by Lady Helen Mirren as 'Tennison' (if I remember correctly). Absolutely charming and superbly supreme lady in deed. After which we (me and the memories of the life which once involved myself) got into 'Cracker' with Robbie Coltrane as 'Fitz' the totally cool psychologist and alcoholic and mishap for which I can only say this; 'look out, here I come'. very nice evening altogether, perfect.

Stephen Fry's QI with the divine Emma Thompson (will be repeated Wednesday 10pm on BBC2). Emma fondly remembering when she literally scared the willie out of Stephen by walking around nude through his appartment and locking all the doors! I love Emma Thompson...

Actually waiting for Fawlty Towers to start. Other than Monty's flying one I do believe it's the best english comedy thing on regularly. But then again, I love 'Little Britain'. The village gay guy, who always walks about in rubber, and the guy in the weelchair, the one who 'can't' walk.
Well, but fawlty towers has its own peculiar place in my trashed by cigarettes and laziness poor excuse for a heart...

Funnily enough I have been watching Emma Thompson too.

I finally managed to acquire a copy of the series Tutti Frutti from 1987 which was that show that launched both Robbie Coltrane and Emma's acting careers.
It is a brilliantly dry, witty comedy/drama about a '60s rock and roll band doing a 25th anniversary tour of Scotland. I also has Richard (Victor Meldrew) Wilson as the band's manager.

Womp-bomp-a-loom-op-a-womp-bam-boom!

That is Firefly indeed and you have to watch the whole series, right now!

Whereas I am watching The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency, very entertaining BBC/HBO series located in Botswana. With a lineup of producers that would make every blockbuster movie blush: The Weinsteins, Richard Curtis, the late Sidney Pollack and the late Anthony Minghella (who also directed the pilot episode)...

Robert Duvall in an old Outer Limits episode, The Inheritors on the soon-to-be-branded "Siffy" channel. Fantastic episode.
