So, what's the legendary creator of Cerebus The Aardvark been up to
lately? The man I once considered A Hero for his fierce, independent
creative spirit and willingness to spit in the face of the all the corporate
aspects of the industry? Who never sold out, even when George Lucas,
mighty cosmic checkbook in hand, came calling back in the day?

This, apparently. His latest project, Glamourpuss.

The lesson to be learned herein is The Price To Be Paid For Your Art.

In the case of Cerebus, bloody-mindedly writing and drawing the same
character in one continuous, meticulously planned 6000 page comic book
tale that spans over 300 issues and 27 years of your life.

That price, quite clearly, being his sanity.

You go, Dave.

To balance things, here's Dave before it all went pear-shaped.

A better look at the man, the creator, that practically defined comic
book self-publishing, was a key element in the CBLDF and produced
one of the most monolithic masterpieces the medium will ever see.

Before he went batshit.

I've not read as much Cerebus as I'd like (to my shame and lack of free time) but Dave has always been a huge inspiration for his dedication, and always will be, even if he's went around the bend a bit.
