Hi,

twentysomething German female here, finally joined after several weeks of lurking.

I made first contact with the Hitchhiker books when I was ten. At that time I already was a fan of a) interesting ways of looking at the world and b) apocalyptic stories, so a book beginning with the world getting blown up and then treating this as not much of a big deal just had to become my personal bible.

Unfortunately I only discovered the other brilliant stuff (Last Chance, Liff, radio series) when the Great Man died and my local library put up a lovely DNA shrine. *loves local library*

Other interests include, but are not limited to: traveling all over the place, spreading chaos, torturing neighbors with a bassoon, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Bill Bryson, Jasper Fforde, rambling on about books until the listeners' ears start bleeding.

Currently living in the south-west of Germany with a military guy and various musical instruments.

Nice meeting you guys!

Good question. I haven't found anything here yet that would drive me away. Want to change that? Bring it on!

Mmmm, blue drink! Does it have any gargle-blasting properties?

Sort of, but it's a tad milder and safe for most sentient beings....it's also known as a B.B.M.: bottomless blue martini. One drink should last for your first few thousand posts on this forum.

Hello Electric Nun, I was getting concerned because this place was getting desperately short of female German bassoonists. You've arrived in the nick of time. Welcome.

Greetings, Electric Nun!

You will know by now that we already have twentysomethings, a german girl and a bassoonist, but having all three in one package sounds interesting...welcome aboard!

Mind the racing grannies...

welcome to the nut house Electric nun, have an old joke.

Paul.

Two nuns are ordered to paint a room in the convent, and the last instruction of the Mother Superior is that they must not get even a drop of paint on their new habits.

After conferring about this for a while, the two nuns decide to lock the door of the room, strip off their habits, and paint in the nude. In the middle of the project, there comes a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" calls one of the nuns.

"Blind man," replies a voice from the other side of the door.

The two nuns look at each other and shrug, and, deciding that no harm can come from letting a blind man into the room, they open the door.

"Nice tits," says the man, "where do you want these blinds?"
