Me thinks a few screen grabs of the TARDIS round those planets are going to be hitting my desktop background very, very soon...

Next week's episode is 65 minutes long apparently

First of all, pretty good episode. On the edge of my seat, me. And now for a whole lot of bitching: I tell you, the conclusion to this better be damned satisfying. If Russell decides to pull another Deus Ex Machina out of his hat, he will actively have cemented his otherwise undeserved reputation as a hack. And I will demand his head on a spike. And we will walk down the streets of Cardiff yelling "It is not okay to pull an end out of your ass just because you spend all the time building far to much plot. Cut one plot and make a proper end, instead of not even giving a hint to the conclusion until the last five minutes where something that looks far to much like magic is able to beat the millions of enemies in a matter of seconds". Not the catchiest phrases to shout, I admit, but I couldn't come up with a shorter version. It could be "No halfarsing", but that one seems a but vague.

And Russell seems to have run into his old nemesis: Too many ideas and an obsessive desire to use as many as he can possibly squeeze in. It was a pretty good episode, so I don't want to see Russell fuck it up. Not this time. I want to trust him to make a great episode, but, frankly, his trackrecord is not to good when it comes to properly ending finales. And I have trouble trusting a man who sets out to write "The biggest finale ever", in his own words. I mean, if Columbus had said "I am going to discover a new continent", you just know that he would somehow have missed the Americas completely and ended up in India.

Quote:
What the hell was up with Harriet Jones (Former Primeminister (While we are at it, that running gag should have been cut in The Christmas Invasion))? How the hell did she become some computer illiterates fantasy of a 1337 hacker? And Torchwood, that is just fanwank. Speaking of wanker, I still want Ianto dead. It can be explained if Gwen is connected to Gwynneth from the first season of Doctor Who, and then she can drop dead too. And I really didn't feel anything by the Doctor meeting Rose, mainly because Russell has spend the last two seasons going "Hey, he used to have a companion named Rose, remember her? Well, I do. Let me just casually throw her name in". And then "LOOK OMG LOOK ITS ROSE". I am so tired of her. And if Tennant regenerates into Tennant, Fuck you, Russell. Actually, if he turns into the next Doctor and Russell weasels out of it by resetting the thing again to before Ten regenerated, Fuck You, Russell! Then you will be a coward and a hack, and the entire Who community will brand you as such for the rest of your days, except for the Tennant fangirls, but their only interest in the show is because they want Tennant for some sort of fan-girl breeding program. If the new Doctor is permanent, which I doubt, seeing as Tennant has already filmed the Christmas Special, bravo. You managed to keep it a secret. Even if I would have liked to see Tennant leave in a blaze of glory, instead of a sneaky dalek popping out from behind a nearby bush. And if they continue the DÃ¥rlig Ulv Strand conversation where they left off with the Doctor declaring his love for Rose, Russell will have lost me completely. I am willing to accept "You are magnificent, Rose. May your life be a long and happy one", but no goddamned love! So, I hope that she dies before a declaration of love can happen, because that is the only way to make everyone happy. The shippers can go "He meant to tell her", and the rest of us can go "No he didn't". But we win, because we would never, ever, see Rose Tyler again. I get it Russell, you love your little pet-companion, but Piper left the show two seasons ago. MOVE THE FUCK ON!

Wow, not bad, not bad at all....RTD has impressed me over the last couple of episodes.

Quote:
Is it just me or is the woman in charge at the shadow proclamation look a bit like the pale bald character hooked up to the thinga magiggy in the last episode of series 1, the one that warns the doctor?

Anyhow, I think I'll need to watch this episode again. A lot crammed into 45 minutes. They'll need that 65 minutes at least for the final episode, if not longer.

I highly suspect that we'll get Tennant mark II Lord-Z...I don't mind, though, I think I'm in that fangirl category you speak of so highly ;).

They've also dragged the "yearning for Rose" line for too long to have it vanish in a puff of a dalek blast.

Good stuff, but then I'm a sucker for the Daleks.

The very prominent close up of the severed hand in the jar at the start of the episode... could indeed be the Doc is going to regenerate as himself (or will we get Tom Baker for an episode...that would be nice)

I thought the ex prime minister joke wasn't bad... especially as even the Daleks had got bored of it, it's not like they say EXTERMINATE a lot or anything.

OMFG that was brilliant and what a shocking cliffhanger. I hope that I can stay away from any possible and impossible spoilers until next week! This is the greatest show in the galaxy...

This sneaky little American has found it online, but the legality of the copy in question is a bit questionable so I will refrain from posting it here. I shall, however, post a review.

Could've done without all of the spin-off series crossovers. Even if they made it make sense, it's still incredibly silly and feels like they care more about pleasing the audience than writing a plot.

My guess is Tennant will regenerate into Tennant. Perhaps he'll claim he's changed because half of him did or something like that. And since Davros has been taunting him by saying a Dalek did what he could not (change part of the Time War), I have a hunch he'll be trying that in the near future.

Donna seems to have two heartbeats. Now, what could that possibly mean...*wink wink*

Davros needs more screen time. Actually, the main cast and all of the Daleks need more screen time.

And now the only comment I can make regarding Dalek Caan: "I fleeeeeew!"

Alright, I will ask: What the hell are you talking about?

When she's sitting on the steps in the Shadow Proclamation, she hears her heartbeat. Not only is it (kind of) similar to what was going on in last season's finale, it sounded like there was two. I shrugged it off as mere reverb/echo before my lurkings at OG informed me that I was not the only one who noticed that. So...not human? Time Lady, perhaps?

Watched it again yesterday and just want to remark that Nicholas Briggs has provided a masterpiece for the ages in his brilliantly insane performance of Dalek Caan.

I've just seen this episode and I must admit I wasn't blown away as much as I expected to be, based on all the positive reviews. The story was simple and not as action-packed as I thought which wouldn't really be a problem, had there been great dialogues, but there were only traces of that. And Rose looked ridiculous with her giant toothpaste-tube gun. But otherwise I'm still thrilled to see Journey's End, I'm really curious about this whole regeneration business. And I enjoyed Davros' character very much.
