Congratulations, Difool, your first win! It was about time, eh? But it was pretty narrow again with Indy's TE Dallas Clark lifting you over the hump with that late fourth quarter catch!

Yeah. Congrats.

Effin' Dallas Clark.

So yeah, I just went over to set my lineup for tomorrow and a funny thing happens. That area where it shows the roster and allows you to move people around, it's a giant green spot and I can't see my (crappy, I know) team. Blarg.

That's a bummer, Mike. I've never had any problems like that. Keep trying. Might be a bug on the server. Hope you get it worked out.

Meanwhile, I'm slowly clawing my way up from dregs. Don't know if the remaining weeks will be enough to reach the top tho.

Just got in and checked the scores. I thought you might have me today,
Stej, but my boys came up big in the late games. Adrian Peterson again
(available to each and every one of us at the beginning of the year, in case
you forgot) was utterly inhuman. My RB's exceeded projections by 64 pts
combined and that pretty much sealed it. All around, an excellent Sunday.

Yeah, I had a bit of a hope after the first games (The Saints are back!) but then your guys performed mightily. Brady and Hasselbeck doing their job, Addai looks fantastic. And All Day smacked Lights Out, eh? Your waiver pick up gets better and better!

But... the highlight for me was a totally effortless looking one-handed catch by Randy Moss. Not a deep ball or something, just displaying amazing skill. Wow!

And before I forget, here's your cake:

I haven't checked my team since the third week. And I haven't updated my hockey team once.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Does this mean I'm not barbarian enough?

It means you're an easy win.

Still, I think most folks would prefer to play against someone who's
actively involved in the game, just for competition's sake.

Just stop by once a week and set up your teams. It's easy and you'll
feel better about yourself in a very essential, manly sort of way.

Don't feel bad Mike. I lost to Puff while he wasn't trying. I suck so bad.

So I seriously wasn't expecting to tie against the Goits.

See? You voted against yourself and it turned out to be a good match.

If I was more of a Star Wars geek, this is where I'd insert a Yoda quote

Meta-Brady was back on target this week so my score looks
good again. Playoffs are around the corner, now. Looks like
we'll have a real dogfight going. Who wants it the most, boys?

I want my team to want it for themselves, not for whatever bragging rights I might gain.

Actually, I've been too icky-poo to even care about Fantasy Football, Fantasy Hockey, Fantasy Spanking...

Well, not Fantasy Spanking.

314 - 151

Nice record but what a waste, my players should've spared some of those points for the Playoffs!

It's amazing that I can still win games with Carson Palmer's performance as of late.

I'm looking at the Goits vs. Runts playoff match-up. We split our
regular season games 1-1 with the overall edge in points to the
Runts at a sizeable 503-459. In fact, my one win was by a measly
three flippin' points.

That sound you hear is my confidence ebbing away.

Well, you lost to him on the Patriots' bye-week. But then the Patriots face the Dolphins this weekend and those allegedly Tuna-Saved Dolphins are on a winning streak!

Oh, I am by no means taking this playoff game lightly. Carson Palmer has been hellabad this season. So any hopes that I have on winning this match relies on my WRs Housh and Moss to have career games.

Tell us again, Ken, how Peterson was available to us at the beginning of the season. I love that story.

Once upon a time there was a rookie running back for the Minnesota
Vikings and he had huge numbers that made all the manboys drool.

Meanwhile, in the far northeast of the land, there was a visionary hero
packing the sort of beefsteak that made all the princesses soil their
undies and he alone had the stunning foresight to grab that rookie off
of the waiver wire before the season began, losing only a lowly backup
kicker in the process. And so the entire land sang songs of praise to
him except for his jealous enemies who plotted his downfall like naughty
little stinking evil rats.

Seriously, the big question in fanatsy playoffs is how much the stars
will play in these final weeks, especially those on post-season bound
teams. Brady might hang in there for a while against the Dolphins but
if the game is out of hand, they might sit him and my numbers will
suffer. Gets even worse for those in the champioship game as it goes
along with the last game of the season, meaningless for most folks.

I'm hoping the quest for 16-0 will keep Brady pretty active up 'til the end.

My sense of foreboding was correct. I've done gone and lost to
a cunning group of runts. Congrats, gonz. Looks like it's you
against Stej for the title. May the best stinking evil bastard win.

Did that sound bitter? Because I'm not. Really.

It was a good run Ken. Just wasn't in the cards. From the looks of the transaction messages today Stej is massing the meatheads for a final onslaught. It could be gruesome. Blood and guts everywhere.

Take heart tho, mi amigo! Now you can rub elbows with us losers at the consolation after-party.

It's not over until the fat bastard sings.

Unless Philip Rivers pulls a Kurt Warner tonight, I amazingly made it despite Colston getting hurt and Green Bay playing like Chicago. The final two weeks of regular season are close to impossible to predict. Coaches pull players for whatever reason, players simply underachieve or get hurt. In addition to that whole mess we now get to the dreaded week 17 where most of the playoff bound teams will rest their starters. Hmmm, tricky....

How did I...

I mean... what...

...er...

How the fuck did I beat the Goits? The Yahoo! Patriots. How? Why?

Oh shit... I can't deal with this. I'm from Cincinnati. We're not adept at handling successful football teams.

Thanks, Ken. You're a more than worthy competitor and I have no idea how my band of idiots managed to eke out that W.

There's got to be something wrong with Yahoo's software.

Don't think his goofy attitude and yen for dressing funky didn't play into my decision to choose him.

Seriously... I have no idea how the hell I got past the Goits. I played Chris Henry for fuck sake.

It was the running game what did me in, boys. You guys are
going easy on me by not pointing out that wunderkind Adrian
Peterson turned in a measly 14 point effort in the night game
and, compared to Portis' 45, that's what killed me in the end.
I do stattracker so I know I was leading going into that tilt and
the rookie was beat by the vet, game, set, match.

Them Runts are legit contenders, my brothers. Don't let the
Lou Holtz act fool you. Should be a helluva good DAC Bowl.

I'm already ordering my draft for next year, anyway. Hmmm. Where to rank Peterson?

Maybe we should end on week 16 next year. Week 17 is so worthless for a lot of teams and players, even tougher than usual to guess who'll show up.

I wrestle with that notion every year, Stej. You're right, week 17
can be a random crap shoot. Then again, it's so much fun playing
I feel like I want the season to last as long as possible. Next year
we'll have to go with 16, though, if everyone agrees. Meanwhile,
look at the championship as a challenge. Really have to do some
homework and some calculated gambling to have a chance to win.

Good luck to ye both!

There are no prizes for second place. However, even if I don't make it, I'll still treat my team to a night at the Cracker Barrel.

Well, the Runts had a good run but not enough to best those pesky Orcas. Congrats, Steja. Your crown is justly earned.

Thank you very much, Brianoid, the pleasure was all mine! Thank goodness all those weeks of preparation, long hours of film study and heartbreaking management decisions weren't for nothing. After last year's disaster in the final (all Andy Reid's fault, of course) it sure feels good to win the damn thing. I'm so proud, I think I will set up a commemorative statue in my garden to honour the glorious moment when I finally came through!

I don't mind doing it again, unless someone else wants a turn.
Be happy to set it up and get things rolling. Just say the word,
my brothers and we shall beging our pigskin battles anew.

I'm in but I honestly can't say my heart is in the NFL anymore. I might just use it to cynically exploit my detest of the Bengals.

I'm ready to defend the title. And since Ken did such a great job last season I'd be happy to see him run the show again!
