Well then, you leave me no choice but to riposte with...

what is, actually, a pretty cool little classic 80’s tune.

Whoopsy. Guess you gotta go there to hear it, but it's worth the trip.

With apologies that this is a promo video...in spite of this band being awesome live (at least they were 20 years ago), there doesn't seem to be a live version that does this song justice:

Rememer this? It’s the song that kicked off the famous formula: M+TV= $²

I remember it clearly when it happened. I changed the cable channel on a whim, (using the odd, little rectangular cable TV boxes with a legion of buttons to push and the weird little dial on the end,) and was greeted with the pleasant face of JJ Jackson proclaiming that MTV had been on the air 27 minutes, (or something very like that, followed by astronaut footage of the moon landing, and so forth,) after which, I would see a video from Asia, and then Flock of Seagulls, The Bugles again, then followed by a “VJâ€

But please, could you indulge me in a secret 80’s confession?

I can’t help but to sing along with this song when I hear it:

Ah, the lovely Ms Lennox

Interesting (or not so) trivia.
When I was in first year at college, a guy who was in my class but was a mature student, used to play bass in a jazz band.
The band's singer was - Annie Lennox

I never attended college with their bass player, but I did stay at the same hotel as them for a few days in Houston several years back ... does that count?

An odd little side note, I met these guys while working as a front office manager at a large hotel in Springfield MO. Their tour bus broke down and they stayed with us while it was repaired. I cringed when, upon checking in, the little front desk girl asked if they thought they would ever make the mainstream music scene. Bless her little heart.

Anyway, I got to hang out with them a bit after work and found them to be an easygoing, likable lot.

Here are some "classic" songs I like a lot.
But I'm sure you knew them already...

Is it all right to link to the songs on the www where you can't download them - but just listen - or should it all go?
What about the pictures?

More interesting trivia. The Eurythmics first appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test featured a guitar player that once worked and frequented Bristol Musical. Where I met Old Scratch many moons ago. Roger Pomfrey.
