From the album "Aja"

I wanna tell you a story...
In 1977 when this album came out, I was in London with my Dad and I bought a limited edition (on silver vinyl) import copy of it in a record store in Soho.
Somehow when we got back home a few days later, we couldn't find the album and, much pissed off, I wound up taping from a mate's copy.

I had completely forgotten about this until a couple of years ago my Dad was clearing out some old junk and came across a suitcase packed with old clothes. He pulled the clothes to bin them but part of the lining came away and behind it was.. the record. Still shrink-wrapped, unplayed.

Lost Treasure ... how nice!

Actually, I was searching through iTunes for The Fez and much to my horror discovered that I haven't got it there. I've got it on vinyl and I've got it on DVDa; neither of which I can convert to mp3 - bah!

Funny, I missed the obvious link until your post in the other thread about changing your name to "Powerful Fez Bitch" - the tume just jumped into my head.

Oh, yes.
Linn LP12. I've got over 800 vinyl LP's and a similar number of singles so I gotta keep something.

"I wish that I knew what I know now" by Rod Stewart. From the "RUSHMORE" soudtrack.

I love the movie Rushmore, and anything directed by Wes Andersen.

She originally starred as eponine in the london (original) version, the original cast (i believe).

Oftenmost, the recordings available are of the original london cast

Love the musical

Technically Good Charlotte and Dashboard Confessional are classified as EMO.
A few interesting tidbits about EMO.
1:EMO fans seem to be goths, only they wear trndy clothes.
2:EMO music generally decribes someone cutting their own wrists. Which then leads to one wanting to slit one's own wrists.
3:EMO sucks. I hate EMO. I also hate EMO fans.
4:EMO sucks.
5:EMO sucks.
6:EMO fans pretend to be "outside of the box" but they really aren't. Doon't let them fool you, all they really want is to be noticed.

My head is full of music.
Tonight I returned home from an evening at the symphony (absolutely lovely) to find that the moongod had Roy Orbison's 'Black & White Night' cranked up and vibrating throughout the entire house (excellent).

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

John Adams - Lollapalooza
Bernstein - Serenade For Violin, Strings And Percussion
Holst - The Planets, Op. 32

Robert McDuffie was guest violinist - what a joy to see and hear him play. His love of his music really shines through.

Excellent indeed. All 20th century stuff too.

Adams is the best of the minimalists, he always writes with intelligence and humour.

And Bernstein is a hero of mine...apart from writing the only musical I like, his concert music is both musically strong and approachable, the hardest combination to achieve. And he was one of the finest conductors of the past century, particularly in Mahler and Shostakovich. I am a big fan.

Oh, and the Planets ain't bad either...I'm usually a bit of a snob with music that gets so popular, but the Planets is an astonishing piece, considering when it was written. So ahead of its time...apart from fact that there's no Pluto, because it had yet to be discovered. It's often performed now with a sort of footnote extra Pluto movement, written about 5 years ago. but I don;t see the point. Why do people have to fiddle with stuff?

Anyhow, glad you enjoyed. I would have done too.
