Don't worry about it, I spent all of last year in last place, and I managed to finish in second to last place! How's that for a Cinderella story? No one made fun of me for sucking. Wait... Yeah they did! Barbarians!

Ok everybody, football season is over! It's time to focus on the more important sport. HOCKEY!!!!

After spending a lengthy stay in the top of the standings, my Mighty Munchkins fell off drastically, dropping into the lower fifty. They've been clawing they're way back up again tho, and have their eyes clearly focused on the top again. There's still more than half the season left, so anything can happen.

GAME ON!!!

I fear that I've neglected my team for a long time... And I was doing well while I was actually managing! Oh dear.

Yeah, yahoo fantasy hockey has turned out to be so much more fun than the old sporting news
leagues I used to play in. Head to head is a blast. I'm desperately trying to crawl up the ladder
as wll, OZ. We're bunched up pretty good.

I'm pretty sure, by the way, that there are no games played restrictions in head-to-head leagues,
so no need to worry down the stretch about who to play. Is that the case, OZ?

I was looking around for just that a few days ago, and I couldn't find anywhere saying we have a restriction. But I'd prefer to take OZ's word than my assumption.

I believe you are correct. I remember reading it somewhere on the site. I'll snoop around a bit later and try to confirm that for everybody.

EDIT: I decided to do it now rather than later. This is all I could find.

Yahoo! Fantasy Sports wrote:
Rotisserie & Fantasy Point Leagues

In Public Leagues, each position on your roster can accumulate a maximum of 82 games worth of stats. When any roster position (the sum of all players used in that position) reaches the 82-game plateau, stats are no longer accumulated at that position.

The way I read it, since this rule is only for Rotisserie & Fantasy Point Leagues, it does not apply to Head-to-Head Leagues.

Hellooooo!! Managers! Wakie wakie! Ken is solidly on top of the DAC Hockey League, however everyone is still in this. We only have six teams, so everyone has clinched a playoff spot. Don't give up on a lackluster team. We're in the home stretch, with the trade deadline a month away and the playoffs not long after. We need to slip Ken a Mickey.......er, I mean, we need to work hard, make blockbuster roster deals, and take him down with our shrewd strategies and cunning managing skills. Let's roll boys!!!

I dunno. I'm so smart I dropped Cheechoo and the dude scores 4 goals this week. Genius move, there.

Screw it, though! You'll never take me alive! The Bruins brought up a fighter this week so I'm burning with
a renewed sense of hope and hockey enthusiasm.

Come and get me!

I just updated my team for the first time in weeks while I was at the school computer lab. Some kid was updating his Yahoo! Basketball team, and I just looked at it wide-eyed.

"My team!"

Needless to say, I surprised a few folks - but I got the job done. Fourth place?! Grrr.

I haven't checked my roster in about a week. I'm sure by this time I'm giving new meaning to the term "bottom feeder".

Playoffs don't start until Week 24, so the playoff tree could change. It's showing the matchups according to the current standings, so if the standings change before playoffs start so will the matchups. Just keep working your roster so you have max players gaining points. It's anybody's championship to take.

This is the final week of regular season match-ups. Playoffs start next monday. It looks like the standings are going to.........stand. We cannot allow Ken to take the championship again this year. Dynasties are not allowed (unless it's mine) and are bad for morale. Work those rosters, start the pep talks. This is hockey, dammit!

The playoffs are on! Don't relax yet! Now is the time to be all the manager that you can be. This season has been a blast, at least for me, so let's keep it going for the playoffs! Ken and SS have byes this first week, so let's hope they fall asleep and forget...........Shit, did I say that out loud?

GAME ON!

It has been a fun season, for sure. So many good players to choose from, we all have teams
that are pretty well stocked. I don't care what it looks like on paper but I'm thinking anyone
can beat anyone in the playoffs here and the real championship is completely up for grabs.

But rest assured you bastards will have to pry it from my cold, lifeless claws.

I don't know if anyone else has been watching the goings on in the DAC League Playoffs, but if my boys don't get their shit together today FalconKnight is going to pull off an upset. Today is the last day of games for our first round, so make sure you got the line you want. I'm nervous as hell here. I don't wanna go out in the first round!

I'm watching and waiting, OZ. Both of your series' are coming down to the final day so I've
no idea who I'll play yet.

Can't wait for the next round, though. It's where we separate the men from the man-boys.

Well, my boys squeaked out the win. Hejduk's OT game-winner was a big help in that. Kudos to FK for a well played round. I was sweatin' bullets right til this morning when I checked the results. Looks like my Munchkins are up against the Claydogs and Ken's Cementheads take on the Logical Losers. Good luck to all!

Puff has the edge on me right now and it's making me nervous about
my chances of moving on to the finals. My goalies have been crap this
week (3 losses already between Brodeur and Hasek alone) and it's
been killing me. Looking for a big weekend so I can pull this one out.

I'm a bit nervous myself. I've had a lead over SS all week, until yesterday. It's gonna be close. Great excitement again from DAC Hockey League.

It's pretty much a done deal that I've lost and there will, in fact, be a
new DAC Hockey Champion this year. Good run in the regular season
but the Cementheads have fallen a bit short in the playoffs, I think.

Congrats to Puff and whichever gent he's plaing in the finals. I'll be
slugging it out for third with an eye on coming back hungry next year.

Bastards.

Yep, it's my Munchkins and the Losers playing for the cup. Shall we call it the Adams Cup? And congrats to FalconKnight for completely obliterating the Festering Gobs for fifth place. Gonz's stats would have been plenty to win in any other matchup, but FK's boys racked up some phenomenal numbers for the week, even though it appears that neither of them did any roster jockeying.

I'm not liking the looks of my roster, as I seem to have some days where I have hardly any players with games, and then I have days when they all have games and I have to decide who to bench. It's gonna be tricky, but the Losers will live up to their name, if I have anything to do with it.

I'm going to admit that around about late January, I stopped really paying attention to the whole Fantasy Hockey thingy. My heart just wasn't in it.

You do realize, though, with an attitude like that you could be making millions
of dollars playing, coaching or managing for the Boston Bruins?

This is rather amusing to me, I hadn't fiddled with my team for about a month until right before the playoffs. Anyway, I'll make sure the Losers do their best to not live up to their name.

Well, tomorrow I'm leaving from work for Wyoming and won't be back until Monday, so by that time the new DAC Hockey League Champion will be crowned. I expect many expressions of congratulations in my mail box and monetary gifts in my PayPal acount. Sorry Puff, but it's destiny.

Controversy! The finals, after two weeks of play, have ended in a dead
tie. Yahoo has awarded OZ the championship, probably because of his
better overall record. So congrats to OZ for being number one!

The question is, how will this sit with Puff? Technically, the way the head
to head playoffs go, he could argue for some sort of tie breaking playoff
round or something to settle it more decisively. Maybe a playoff bet or
something, pick a few teams for the finals?

***pumping fist in the air***

YES! YES! YES!

Wow! It came down to a tie? Insane! I'll take it, but if Puff wants a tie-breaker I'm game for that as well. Perhaps we both choose two playoff teams, one each from the East and West, and chooser of the team that goes farthest in the playoffs wins the jellybeans. Just a suggestion. Puff? Puff? What say ye?
