Forget what I said. Life is what you make it. You'll know instinctively what's right. Fluffy kittens will elevate your mood on rainy days. There's no need to worry. The worst you'll ever have to deal with in life are Mondays, stubbed toes and cranky teachers.

If you ever travel back in time, don't do anything that will change the future. Unless it turns out you were supposed to. In that case, for the love of god don't not do it.

It's true. The overwhelming sense of doomed mortality, the notion that life is utter nothingness,
a brief, pointless blink of an eye where nothing you ever do ever makes the slightest difference
and you're trapped in a dead end life that you never wanted surrounded by people who just don't
seem to understand you and think you're a jerk even though you try really hard to be a decent person
but that most every attempt fails due to your own inadequacy in dealing with the miserable, bleak world
that surrounds you into which you just can't seem to fit in any way, shape or form or even make that
much sense of in the first place and love is a absurd myth and your hockey team always sucks is really
nothing compared to a particularly nasty little hangnail.

I know, those trips to the pump are really starting to bite. I’ve been thinking about looking into one of those dogsleds with wheels. You know, work my hounds a bit. Good exercise and all that. Might even save me cab fair home from the bar.
I wonder if anybody has ever gotten a DWI on a dogsled?

“Sir, I’m afraid one of your pooches crossed the centerline back there. Could you step out of the dogsled please. Have you or your dogs been drinking tonight? I’m afraid I’m going to have to give the lot of you sobriety tests. I want you all to stand on one leg and count form one thousand one to one thousand twenty…â€

I just saw a news report that while gasoline prices in the US are down 4% over the last six months, oil prices are down 37% over the same time period. Doesn't seem like near enough profit to me. I predict a new disaster on the horizon to drive prices up again. That's just me though.

Oh, and Puff, stay away from the Devil Weed. It makes you paranoid.

See I don't get it all.

The Dollar/Euro exchange rate is very important to me so I watch it like a hawk.

Now four years ago one dollar would buy you 1 euro, oil was then around 40 dollars a barrel, so 40 euros.

When oil rose to 70 dollars a barrel at that stage the dollar was worth 0.76 euro cents so 53 euros a barrel.

So a price rise in euros of some 30 percent. In the same period the price at the pump has doubled from around 0.65 euro a litre to 1.30 euro.

Today the price of oil is around 55 dollars a barrel and the dollar is at 0.77 euro, so a barrel now costs around 42 euros a barrel almost the same as it did 4 years ago, but the price at the pump is still around 1.25 euro a litre. So where is all the money going then?

For accounting purposes, yes.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that oil companies have reported record profits while those prices at the pump go up.

Around two bucks and a quarter, but I hear that will be going up soon. Luckily I drive a lil' Mazda car. Still, a dogsled would be cheaper.

Over where?

Um, two and a quarter is what I meant to say. In regard to the gas. Please excuse me. I’ve been taking medicine for migraines, bitalbital or somesuch. It does wonders for my headaches, but it’s not very conducive to my typing of words or thinking of thoughts. Makes me mostly chipper, vague, clumsy, forgetful and sadly, gregarious. I should probably stick to reading books for a bit.

Gas was $2.09 here yesterday. Monday, the family and I drove up to Macon and there were stops along the way that had gas under $2. One truck stop even had $1.88 gas. If I hadn't have had a full tank, I would have stopped immediately.

Amazing just how different gas prices can be county to county.

1.88 for an american gallon I believe, whereas over here we pay almost that much for a litre.

County to County, Country to Country.

How much of your price is tax, though? The difference in price county to county, town to town, is all about taxes.

Well about 80% is tax as they try and tell us although I work it out as 400% tax, if twenty percent of the price is the real cost and eighty percent is tax, than for me that is 400%.

But the question is really who is taking the cash, the governments or the oil companies or both !?! Just who is running the show?

At least my brother owns a Mini Cooper S, so when I start driving (around June), gas shouldn't be that much of a problem... except that his car only takes Premium ...
