That was suitably horrific! Some bits didn't work for me but overall a very satisfying cyber-story.

Hilarious. We laughed and laughed all the way through.

First there was King Kong vs. Godzilla.

Then there was Alien vs. Predator.

Now Torchwood gives you ...

Awesome! That was entertainment as it's supposed to be. It absolutely terrified my sisters thought - made them jump and scream...
I really am beginning to like Torchwood a lot, and I loved those:

"Small Worlds" was pretty creepy with a surprising finish. Definitely an episode not for the wee ones!

Small Worlds - certainly the best episode so far. Very pleased to see the show improving. Hope it continues that way...

Countrycide was very creepy too, rather horror than sci-fi. Still very enjoyable stuff!

I tried very hard to stop thinking this was a League of Gentlemen spin off, rather than a Who, but good camera work, keeping the viewer in suspense, the tension between Owen and Gwen (thanks for the offer...), yep, pretty good.

There is a small group of people on the "Behind the Sofa" blog here that spend most of their time slagging the show off, but I like it, it's true Sunday night escapism: a secret organisation that goes around in a blacked out Discovery with blue Kit style lights and Torchwood engraved into the side and top, come on!

I enjoyed it too. I really liked the creepy build-up and the gore effects were absolutely brilliant (well done Gore-ton).

The sexy stuff feels overplayed, I think I'd enjoy more subtlety. The ending (everything after it is revealed that it was just plain old human psychos) felt like a missed opportunity and a simple retread of a very well explored idea.

However, any deficiencies were completely made up for by the inclusion of a Batemans beer crate!

Well sadly I fell asleep during Sunday nights screening. A testiment perhaps to how predictible I'm fining most of this series so far.

For a man who says he's a fan of such writers as Joss Whedon I'm surprised how 'leaden' the stories have been so far.

There are no real twists that you can't see coming a mile off, nor any good convincing characters, nor 'sparkling' dialogue.

I want it to be good, for If nothing else a failed show like this doesn't bode well for other companies trying to get new fantasy/Sci-Fi shows on the air.

Greeks Bearing Gifts was another character play, this time it's all about Tosh. As much as I'm into comic stuff like the infamous Cyberbabe, I have to say that I really like the last couple of episodes.

I think Greeks Bearing Gifts was my favorite episode so far.

Mine too.

'They Keep Killing Susie' was enjoyable but absolutely riddled with plot-holes. What was that about stopwatches? Indira Varma was really good, though.

Bit close to home last night, Filey Road?!

Image

Interesting episode, not helped by the fact I sort of watched it in the pub, with many jokes about the rift taking you to Primrose Valley (watch League of Gentlemen for subtle references...)

Much better than last week, though left a hollow feeling at the end. Second viewing probably will help.

Next week, a plane from 1952 lands in Cardiff. Hmmm.

Excellent episode, a little bit like "Love and Monsters". Only four more to go but Season 2 seems to be secured!

I missed Sunday's one but have just downloaded it. Wondered by the title if it is something to do with Nell - "Random Shoes"

Alright, Torchwood has 5 regular characters. So far 4 have turned out to be bisexuals. That has got to be some sort of statistical anomaly, unless Captain Jack had a question on the jobapplication asking "Who is cuter? Me, Monica Belucci or are we equally stunning?".

He's describled the character as omnisexual or multisexual

No, Owen snogged a guy in the first episode, and took both him and the guys girlfriend with him home, after they both vowed to "Have him", as they said. Unless I am wrong, I believe that Gwenn have not yet enjoyed another woman.

She snogged the alien-possessed girl in the second show

Yeah, but that was under influence of her strange alien powers. In my opinion that was closer to rape than to lust. Like an aircarried roofy. She spiked her air.

Basically everyone at Torchwood is a s-l-u-t but the pterodactyl.

Edit: Apparently s-l-u-t gets changed to peach on this forum? Wicked!

I'm afraid that episode 10 is not going to be among my favourites.

Hmm..

According to IMDB, the rather nice looking Louise Delamere is

Quote:
Fellow student, flat-mate and friend is David Tennant, current Doctor Who...

Not the best of episodes, no, but showed Owen off in a different light, and also made Gwen realise she's a bit of a peach

Anybody any ideas of the extras on the DVD release?

You might want to check out the Outpost Gallifrey forum on that. I think the separate Torchwood DVD releases are way overpriced, should be half of what they're taking. I'll wait for a complete boxset and see how the prices are by then.

True, though I still reckon that some of it was simply "because they could". *Groans* Still, the storyline wasn't that bad. I DID like that Owen got some character development.

I'm also growing increasingly fond of Ianto~ ^_^ I loved the scene:

As far as I know, there are two censored words on the forum. peach and aardvark. I am not sure why, but I recon' that MG finds them offensive.
