Much oliged (sic?), Choccster. Even though they're only theories, I closed it fairly quick. I'd much prefer to simply wait and find out the secrets as they're revealed. The small bit that I did read sounded quite intrigueing, though! It took a lot of willpower on my part not to read ahead!

I wanted to edit this to add something. Ok. So I was thinking a while ago, "You know...J.J. Abrams is the guy who does Alias and Lost. So why did I say Joss Whedon? Maybe because their names both start with J."
So there you go.

Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen the second season yet...

DESMOND'S BACK IN THE SEASON FINALE!

I know this is the Lost thread, but I thought since it's Abrams, it'd be okay...

The 2 hour series finale of Alias is on tonight.

Yes, many have never seen an episode of Lost. You don't know what you are missing.

Wow, what a season finale. Quite a bit happened.

SPOILERS

So...is Desmond alive or dead? I heard a rumor that he might be joining the cast as a regular. Michael is totally coming back, dontcha think? I'm looking forward to next season. I'm sure we'll find out more about the Others. Pretty fascinating stuff. And good and emotional too. And a Libby cameo. w00t!

That was pretty crazy!! They kept talking about "There is no outside world" or somesuch and "We're in a giant snowglobe"! Quite head-scratching! But what was that stuff at he end? Is that Russia? I can't believe we have to wait all bloody summer to get some answers! Perhaps the second DVD will be out soon...

Some say

SPOILER

Locke, Eko and Desmond are all goners. But I've also heard that both Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) and Michael Emerson (Henry Gale) will join the cast as series regulars in season 3. So maybe some people are just stupid.

I can't believe Locke and Eko are goners. Especially Locke. Desmond, maybe. He did have his goodbye moment, and he was the focus of the flashback this time. But I'd like to believe he is joining the cast. I like him.

I think Desmond might stick around, because of the Penelope thing. I mean she hired people (presumably) to track electromagnetic anomalies in the hopes of (again, presumably) finding him, right. Why kill him off then? Presumably she'll find the island, and if she does and finds out he's dead, then what?

I just feel there's more potential for story with Desmond alive.

I think Eko and Locke are goners, and Desmond lived.

That was some finale, no? The very end ending was crazy. And I really hate Michael, stupid fool... And the diaries? Dang, that was a cukoo episode.

So the electro-magnetism stuff is actually true? I mean, the time Eko through the belt, I was like... whoa. Anyway, lots to talk about!

No way they killed Eko and Locke off! There's a lot to find out about Locke - e.g. did Henry Gale really mean he was one of the good ones and was coming for him? Only Locke knows he said that and therefore only Locke can ask him about it when the Lostaways next meet with Henry. And I think it's safe to assume that they WILL meet, seeing that Michael Emerson is returning as a series regular.

Waux,
I don't want to disappoint you, but I was kind of already of the opinion that the show had jumped the shark by the end of season 2 and was pretty much going in to this season with the attitude that I was giving it a couple of episodes to redeem itself before I tune out for good. I'm getting really close to doing that.

I guess if you liked the direction the show was going in by the end of the last season, you'll probably like the episode. It's all just getting a little too absurd for me.

Spoilers, as usual...

Very disappointing that one was. The first few minutes were excellent, the city on the island was brilliant. Very intriguing. Unfortunately, the rest was just off to me. I kept doubting the human element of the series, it just seemed so unnatural. Everytime Jack was onscreen, I didn't believe what was happening. Blech. Let's see the cast we love and know, and get back to the one thing that made the show - the people.

PS. Freckles this episode? Daaaaaaaamn.

Guest starring on Lost sometime this season for a couple of episodes, as a man "legally bound" and not related to Kate, Captain Malcolm Reynolds himself, Nathan Fillion. Woot!

Actually, I sort of felt the series was very close to jumping the shark when the whole DHARMA-Swan-Desmond-button-pushing subplot-mainplot whatever was introduced, but then I gave it another chance, and because of all the suspense and the (maybe some think it's clichéd or predictable, but I actually enjoy it) plot, I suspended both my disbelief and disgruntlement (if there's such a word) and hooked on the show.

If you do not take Boy Meets World off of your list, erase every memory you have of Growing Pains, replace Scrubs with Arrested Development, watch every episode of Battlestar Galactica, and put Battlestar Galactica in front, all within five minutes, I will destroy you.

The best part of Lost last week was the segment before one saw the logo swoosh ominously towards the screen.

Top 5 shows on tv right now (in no particular order):

The Office, Scrubs*, Mythbusters, Veronica Mars and Doctor Who

*It's still being made, so I'm counting it.

Apparently Season Four was released this week on DVD. And the show is going to air sometime mid-season, or take over the slot for whatever comedy fails first.

The first five minutes of the Season 3 opener were amazing, so was the bit when Jack walked into the glass-wall, but that's it. Otherwise it was pretty lame. I wanted a cliffhanger and didn't get one.

After I watched a couple of Eccleston-episodes, I realised that I like the character and didn't dislike Eccleston after all, but that's it. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything peculiarly fasinating about it.

If you haven't muttered "Are you my mummy" under your breath yet, you need to keep watching

Yes, it isn't to peoples taste, but how many other programmes do you know get away with mentioning Arthur Dent on a Christmas Day broadcast

Just watched an episode of Lost, season two, which focused on the experiences of the other group of people in the first forty-and-so days.

Am I going nuts, or did the opening title appear from a different angle this time? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Not at the moment, but I'll check it out when I get home. I never noticed that before.
