'Cause I finally gave in and bought one of them shiny things! So, what app must I get?

iBird Explorer Plus, but that won't do you much good, as it's a field guide for North America. :)

You can download the iBook app. That's really good! I also have some yoga apps, for when I travel. Class on the phone! And Minesweeper!

Bebot. I've had it for 18 months and it's still fun to drive my friends crazy with it!

My favourite is Pulse - a great graphic RSS reader
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pulse-ne ... d371088673

Also highly recommend is the BBC app which has a similar style.

One you might want to try is Dragon Dictate. This is the best voice-text system I have ever used and rumour has it that it will be integrated on iOS5

The lonely Planet guides are good if you travel.

So many...

Hmmm... basically the same as Microsoft Photosynth or Dermandar, have to check out which is best.

Since Dragon Dictate has some spyware issues I might for iOS5...

There's also a UK version! But 11,99€...

Anyway, what I really want is some kind of Shazam for Birds. You record the bird song with your iPhone and the software tells you what bird it is. App developers, get going!!!

They don't upload your contacts any more unless you permit it but they do allegedly analyse what you have transcribed for market research purposes (same as Google do with everything that goes through their voice/text, translate, GMail, etc)

WhatsApp is rather convenient. Let's you send messages for free, even internationally.
