So going into the last race of the season, the Brazilian grand prix, Lewis Hamilton has to finish in the top five to clinch the world championship. Racing on his home track, Felipe Massa has to win with Hamilton finishing out of the top five to take the world championship. Massa leads the whole race with a massive lead while Hamilton hangs back holding fourth place secure. About seven laps from the end it begins to rain so all the front runners except Glock pit to change to wet tyres. Hamilton goes to fifth place. Hamilton ends up in sixth place when he is overtaken. On the last lap Massa finishes at least twenty six seconds ahead of Hamilton and thinks he got the championship but Glock slows down quite drastically because he's still on dry tyres and Hamilton overtakes him two bends from the finish line to finish fifth and take the championship. Incredible.

I was watching it, but myself and the GF got........distracted, shall we say, for the last 20 laps or so. Didn't actually watch it, but heard it. And I must say, it made a very interesting soundtrack for our little adventure.

Don't worry, Interlagos is the shortest circuit of the season

Shame about DC getting tagged so quickly, he wanted to do some do-nuts after the race if he finished, something you normally get fined for but last race and all that...

Do you think little Bernie was doing a rain dance out of sight of the cameras?

Roll on an advert free 2009 series.

Oh, almost forgot the drivers standard quote for this season, "for sure"

Oh, so Massa didn't come first after all?

Yep, he won fair and square yesterday, and gratifying to see he is still recorded as being the winner today. Makes a change

I thought perhaps OZ won.

Still, I wonder if Glock will be on the Sportsman of the Year shortlist...

Yeah, doesn't the rubber get too hot after that many rounds?

Well, there were a few warmup laps.

And for the record, I finished last.
