Douglas Adams Continuum (DAC)

The 2007 DAC Hockey League is up and running. I've sent invites to those of you who participated last year and didn't have your email address hidden. To those of you who had hidden addresses (Puff), or those that want to join up new this year, PM me with an email address and I will send out an invite post haste. Same scoring settings as last year, but if someone has any suggested changes let me know and we'll vote on it.

This has been another random act of nonsense.

We've got four teams so far. I'm sure Ken will join when he gets back from vacation. I haven't seen FalconKnight around here for quite some time, but I did send him an invite. We could really use a few more teams folks. If you have even the slightest interest in hockey, join up! It's fun and Puff proved last year that you can almost completely ignore your team and still nearly win the championship.

We have to have an even number of teams to play in the head-to-head format, so we definitely need one more to join if FK doesn't rear his ugly head soon.

The Cementheads are back for another run at the Adams Division
Title. Hard to believe it's getting to be that time of the year already.

This is why I love the fall. Football and hockey getting revved up and
baseball headed for the post season. I currently have 4 fantasy teams
to look after now. Luckily, baseball will be done in a few weeks. Doing
well, though, I've clawed my way into first place and now have a first
round bye in the playoffs. A win in that league would be a minor miracle.

Hockey tends to me my weakest fantsasy sport, actually. Weird since it's
always been my favorite real sport.

Well Thrith, you draft a team and play manager, trying to build your daily lineup with the goons you feel will perform the best. You can set your lineup weekly if you don't want to mess with it all the time, or you can do what some past DAC managers do and let your lineup go for months at a time. It's fun, and it's free!

Right now we have six teams signed up, so if you want to join you'd need to convince another sucker..........err, I mean kind person, to join also so that we keep an even number.

I'd like to set the draft for Saturday, Sept. 22. If anybody else wants in on this pm me before then. As I said above, we have six now, so we need pairs to join. Unless somebody has huge objections the draft will go down next Saturday night.

I got my draft order all set and waiting eagerly to get my team
on the ice to run some drills. Slashing drills, cross-checking
drills, sweater grabbing, how to de-helmet a guy wearing a
shield. The guest coach this year will be Chris Nilan, coming on
board for a special session on butt ending and bench brawls.

Can't wait to get started.

Overall, I think I've got some good players. I'm not sure if Matthieu Schneider's going to be much use this season.

there are soooo many good players available. We could make a
pretty damn good team out of the ones left over as free agents.
