Hi ya'll! How are you today? It's been wet in Connecticut for the last few days, but today looks to be lovely. Vagababy and I are going up to Saugerties, NY to watch her coach ride in the million Dollar Grand Prix.

Let's check in regularly. Maybe we can get back in the habit of the DAC.

Over here I'm enjoing the last day of summer. From tomorrow on the weather forecast promises cold and rain. Sigh...

Around here we are still at 26/27°, we had a nice two-days on the beach, and the water of the sea is just at the right temperature. Just refreshing but not cold.
This summer I finally managed to complete reading "Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid". A demanding read that took me more than two years.
Did anyone here read it? Marvin certainly must have, and probably with pleasure (!)

Today has been a weird mixture of great news and bad news. Just found out my grandmother's kidney isn't doing very well and she's going to need surgery. Also, our TV just decided to stop working. But on the plus side, I'm seeing a movie tonight and filming some people dancing for my Step Up Revolution review (which you can be a part of, by the way. Send me video of you dancing!). But the best news is that my girlfriend got a job here in Chattanooga working for the local FOX station, so she's going to come live with/near me for a while! Woo!

It's autumn and a very foggy day. I can handly see across the atrium to the next hospital buildning. Started the morning at the dentist's and the new hygienist did a very thorough job - will have a sore mouth for a long time...

Otherwise I'm hungry. Lunch is late today due to my daughter's lectures. But it's always nice to have lunch with her so I'll wait.

Absolutely gorgeous day here today! Temps in the upper 70's, low humidity, and clear blue skies. Getting ready to head out and about to run all the errands I put off yesterday and enjoy the sunshine.

good morning everybody! first of all, all the best to your grandmother, aloha, hope she´ll be okay.

over here, they promised us a drastic weather change for today and it has surely come. colder outside, bout 18 degrees max, but a rather nice fresh air. summer is truly gone now, i´ve spied the first turning leaves. skies are grey and cloudy, there´s maybe some rain lurking up there, but not just yet. i think it´s rather nice. summer hasn´t been much o speak of, might as well look forward to a nice autumn.
also, i´m finally starting to feel better, i thought i´d never be rid of this blasted cold.
have a nice day!

Sunny and rather mild weather today.

Boring lunch today, some dry overcooked fish :(

Otherwise I'm experiencing some interesting hormonal experiences. I'm frozen due to hypothyreosis and also suffering from hot flashes. Makes dressing a tad difficult...

Our first maples began turning yellow a couple of weeks ago. We spent the day at the horse show (what a surprise), and if you were in the sun it was fine, but if you were in the shade a jacket was needed. Truly fall is here.

Last year vagababy moved to a new horse trainer and we have anew extended family of very nice people. One of her peers is leaving Monday for two and a half months in the Netherlands working with a Dutch Olympic team member (and great friend of our trainer). I am making him a going-away cheesecake.

Can you all believe vagababy is seventeen and applying to universities? Ack! Gusty jr just started at uni! Eek!

HI everyone! I am in Austin, Texas, visiting my sister. It's dry and sunny and hot. We're going hiking soon, and will, of course, look at birds.

Yesterday I picket up my brave new dragon painting from the framing workshop. It's the original cover art by Jackie Morris for the UK edition of "City of Dragons" by Robin Hobb.

Hi from Austin, Texas, where I am visiting the Vagasister. Tonight we went to see the Congress Avenue Bridge Bat Spectacle. It was amazing!

hi to vaga who seems to have a great time!
and dq, that picture looks beee-auitful (imagine dick van dyke´s voice in "mary poppins" here)!

myself, back from a fun week-end. we were back home (mr. nell´s home) because one of his best friends was getting married and he was best man. just a small affair, the wedding, 20 guests, but very nice and personal. also mr. nell´s mother who´s a big gardener gave us some plants from her garden to get our own started. planted them today! hopefully they´ll all turn out well. bit tired now, but in a totally good mood. the rest of the evening will be every german´s sunday evening ritual - watching the crime series "Tatort". new team, we´ll see.
have a nice week, everybody!

After my niece has moved out I've taken over the whole house. MINE, IT'S ALL MINE!!! Renovation and paint work is completed. Currently I'm transferring my whisky collection to the living room downstairs. Quite a process with some 300 bottles...

Have a great week, folks!

Still going through divorce hell. I just want it to end but I'm doing my best to limit damage to the family. I hate this shit. And I have no work which doesn't help. I need a band to play in!

At least Mike and Niki are pretty much adults. I am sorry it is not over yet, Scratch. Keep breathing and don't kill anyone. Try to get yourself to London Sunday!

Ya'll, Facebook has become an incredibly ugly place for me post-election. I am going to leave it for a while. But I will check in here every day, so if something exciting happens someone please let em know. Okay?

You can also reach me by phone, email and Skype (although I only turn it on if I have a date).

Love,

I probably read only about 10% of the posts on my Facebook account. And I don't play ANY games. Less is more...

Anyway, I assume that the whole election stuff will be history next week. Then it'll get back to more important things like song contests and fake pictures.

Stef, I am thinking it will be safe to go back Sunday or Monday. It is painful for me to watch people I have liked and respected for years spew hate. My stomach twists a little every time I see some names. One of the dearest friends I have had for the last 30 years has really alienated me with her posts. I will never feel the same about her. I am so sad.
