New guy here, so please excuse me if I display my ignorance of the project!

OK, so if you're doing Dirk Gently books, the first one being in production at the moment (haven't had time to listen yet. Sorry  ) And in another it was mentioned that The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul would be the next main project.

So, here's my idea, after that why not do the Salmon of Doubt? I know it finishes half-way, but through the hints that Adams gave his publisher and the existing eleven chapters, it shouldn't be too hard to find something servicable plot-wise to then hand over to people cleverer than I dialouge-wise. I mean, hints are dropped in the early chapters so cleverly you can guess at certain elements.

Writing our own half of an Adams book might seem a little disrespectful, but in no way is it planned to say what would have happened, but if we make something people enjoy, I'm sure Douglas wouldn't object!

Thoughts, comments, abuse?

Yeah, I thought about third series being Salmon myself and the idea of finishing it our way is rather tempting. Oh, that's a sentence which needs a 'but' at the end. Fortunately, I don't have any words after that should-be-there 'but', but I'm afraid all these other fellows will have plenty.

I like the idea, and if anyone could pull it off, it would be us. But I don't know how I feel about attempting to finish the story.

Well, here's an idea. I've got no job around here, and have a bit of free time coming up. If I look at the book, see and predict a decent plot synopsis (without dialouge of course) and post, and you can decide from there?

Well, that sounds like a plan!

Just something to bear in mind - its gonna take us quite a while to do the first 2 books, let alone half of the 3rd and writing our own. Certainly something to think about tho
