Now that we've got our little home back I thought this might be a good time to do a bit of organizing. Since some folks didn't know where to find out what was going on, I thought I'd set up a mailing list so that if anything ever happens again, I can send updates out to those who wish to be kept informed. This, of course, assumes that I know what's going on in the first place.

If you'd like to be added to the list, send an email from the account you want to be notified through with 'DAC Status' in the subject line to DNADOTContinuumATgmailDOTcom.

Very good idea! Imagine what I felt: the only place where I was able to find a bit of helpful information was... gasp... IMDb.

(Actually, I started a thread to find out what's going on, but never mind that.)

Is it just me, or did the forum get a lot thinner and blander just now?

Not sure what this is doing in the status thread, but I find it all too squished, with too much wasted space, and the font is way too small - and I'm not sure it's any faster for me. How does one get to the front page from here ... the chats ... all the other stuff ... is that still being worked out?

And for fuck'* sake, what have you done to the Admin Panel?! All that red is an assult on my eyes this early in the morning. Please fix it before I have to come over there and smack you.

I need my coffee ...

The only way I found was by editing the URL. So there's certainly a missing link and/or icon there.

Yeah, off with his head

I like the tight new look but the '*' and the '!' left to the old threads need to be more visibel.

By clicking the tiny "<" at the top.

And I don't really like this either.

Ah, thanks, Veet ... I hadn't noticed that and had been using the link at the bottom of the page. But I was actually talking about this front page which as Niklas points out can be reached by editing the URL ... but, still ...

Yikes, it is different and spiffy. Loads of wasted space either side of the page. And the font is too small for my large screen! ARGH!

But it looks nice. Maybe

It seems to set up for 800x600, because if I change to that resolution, it fits my screen and the font becomes more readable. Perhaps there is a way to make it fit for higher resolutions.

May I ask what the hell happened to this board while I was away? The banner is messed up, the page is too small, and it is much worse than before. What's with the m favicon?

We were trying to surprise you. Don't you like it?

Puff crafted the letters all by himself. And Iain paid for the grey paint with Gusty's allowance.

It just looks too hard to read? The text is tiny... seriously. Point 10 is too small. It needs to be Size 12. Much Better

Overall, I like it. I just think there's a few things that need tinkered with, like the header needs fixed, maybe extend things out to the left and the right a little bit (not necessarily all the way to the edge) and while I don't mind it, the font size could do with being made larger. To me, it's easier on the eyes now, but I'm weird like that.

I'm not against experimenting with the forum, but I want these experiments to end with returning to the original material.

So you don't mind if things change just so long as they stay the same?

I think when we change stuff, we need to leave the changes in place longer than 12 hours, because just because the few people that came over and posted in that time frame didn't care for it, doesn't mean that it was a bad idea. Change is good, if you give it a chance. Yesterday it didn't seem like anyone really wanted to give it a chance though, it was an almost immediate "change it back."

Dude, the place was sloppy. I actually liked the style, but it was poorly implemented. Several features were missing (hoopy froodlists beside the number ranking, a link to the front page, and links to the forum index at the top of the page), and the banner was squashed. If the admins fixed it up, I wouldn't mind it at all. The actual style was neat, and tidy.

By the by, what's going on banner-wise? When will be able to vote for which masthead we want?
