Last night, i watched Nuns On The Run with Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane. It was really funny! There were people sleeping elsewhere in the house, so I had to keep from laughing too loud, which was really difficult!

explain. and i mean with reasons apart from eric bana´s shirtless self (which was, i admit, one of the lonely highlights in the movie).

watched King Kong tonight. they really should have cut more. and on the dvd there will apparantly be 35 more minutes. not sure what the heck that will be, nothing crucial to the story at least!

Most likely the homage to the original shown in the trailer, "Scream, Anne, screme!" And possibly more New York shots, L-Train maybe? Probably the only stuff he could actually stand being cut.

Well, I can guess on one cut scene that will be back in. It deals with how Ann and Jack get out of the river after escaping Kong and the Flying Rats. In the film, they go from floating down river to instantly running through the jungle up to the wall's gate entrance/exit. There is clearly a scene missing. Not sure about any others. Sure, the film could be cut down a bit, but I like it just as it stands right now. 35 more minutes won't hurt, as long as the scenes are worthy. They were for the LOTR Trilogy, so hopefully Jackson feels these will be as well.

I agree. Explain please. This movie was pure crap. Granted, the TV series wasn't all that great either. I did enjoy it at the time since it was one of the few superhero shows available. I still can't understand the logic behind how a guy could go from a thin little man to a hyper bulked green mutant and back to normal again without serious physical problems though. It's just not humanly logical. This situation is even more illogical in the movie since Bana not only mutates, but grows in size bigger than any comic version of the Hulk. There is no way he could become normal again after so severely altering form. Plus, even though he might be huge and mutated, how come he is suddenly invulnerable? Doesn't work reality wise. Of course, this problem also arises with many characters in the X-men movies as well. Some are logical, some are definitely alien/human hybrids, while others are just impossible for human evolution, even for mutants. When a comic story becomes live action, it not only becomes dimensional, but takes on a element of perceived reality. So you when you see a real human actor doing something you know it completely impossible, it just doesn't make sense, even if you're supposed to believe it is fictional. Granted, I still love the X-men movies for what they are and can't wait to see the third film. But, there is no way to view them as a sort of alternate reality due to the unreality of many characters in it. That goes even more so for the HULK movie.

Yeah, great movie, eh? Definitely the most faithful adaptation to date of the Batman comics. I absolutely love the Tumbler. Get the Deluxe Edition DVD set and check out the making of the vehicle. This is one kick ass off-road car. I envy the stunt driver since he got to keep one of the three made for the film. I've got the 1:8 scale Matchbox metal version of it, but wish ERTL would do a version that is really beautiful to look at with an opening roof and extensive detailing. The matchbox model is quite dull and does not have an opening roof. Stupid. Wrote ERTL about it, but haven't received a reply. I'd like to put it next to my 1973 Mustang Mach 1 model of "Eleanor" from the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" they made.

I grew up with comics everywhere. I read a lot of Marvel (but strangely no DC) comics, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, Rampage (Hulk), Daredevil, Spiderman and X-Men. So far I've enjoyed all the recent movie versions of Marvel superheroes (except Elektra) yes even Fantastic Four

They just bring out the geeky kid in me (no Michael Jackson jokes please)

We tried to watch "Phantom of the Opera" (the film adaptation of the B'way musical). It was exceptionally bad. Turned it off after 15 minutes (max).

Yes, seen the show three times: twice on Broadway and once in LA. It's a nice spectacle, with mostly pretty music. Hubby loves it. I am not a big fan of musicals, although I really enjoyed Hairspray.

Waux, you're not alone in your enjoyment of the SHREK movies. I like them as well, especially the second one.

Seymour, I grew up loving, and still collect, comics, though I'm not a big fan of DC and Marvel like I used to be many years ago. I mainly stick to various story and character lines put out by Dark Horse Comics. Also, like you, I've enjoyed most of the recent comic-to-film adaptations, except HULK and Elektra.

As for the most recent movie I've seen, that would be Tim Burton's classic "Batman". Just watched it last night on my Special Edition DVD. I love that film's great soundtrack by Danny Elfman (and the few good songs by Prince). This film and "Batman Begins" are the best in the comic-to-film translations for Batman.

Saved!

Really witty and sharp. It was a good film, even if it did get a little chick-flickish and preachy at the end. Every teen movie needs some sappiness though, right? Right? Anyway, it was about an 8 / 10 for me. How can you not like a movie that has a kid in a wheelchair holding a sign reading, "Will dance for food."

 Great!

will probably watch King Arthur tonight, and possibly Highlander 1. depends on how long they are. watching football from 8:45pm my time (CET) till about 10:30 so it will have to be after that.

Ghost Ship and Legend are about 90 mins each, I think. might watch them instead. hmm. decisions decisions. hehe.
