i zarkin´ dare any german songwriter to write such an ode to the public (or any) german tv stations. i´d wager that would be a very, very, very short song, consisting only of "Tatort", "Tagesschau" and "Die Sendung mit der Maus". bloody disgrace. you brits are so lucky...

We have DR, the public TV-station. Or, broadcasting corporation, I guess, since it is several radiostations and TV-channels. I don't think they get enough love. They have, over the last few years, be digitizing their entire pre-2000 library, rights permitting, for free viewing online. There is actually a lot of good things on there. I might be tempted to say "not all of it memorable", but my parents might disagree.
